Guns Stolen from POVs at GA Fire Station

Jan. 2, 2017
An overnight burglary resulted in handguns being stolen from the vehicles of on-duty Forsyth County firefighters.

Several Forsyth County firefighters awoke to find that their vehicles were burglarized and three of them said their handguns were stolen.

The break-ins occurred between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m., a fire official said.

“The (burglars) smashed through the glass (of the vehicles),” Division Chief Jason Shivers told CBS46.com. “The thought of these guys being victims, while they’re working hard, away from their families, it bothers you.”

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and told the television station that several cars in the same area were also broken in to.
