While battling a Glen Rock house fire, two firefighters sustained burns on their hands and legs.

Two NJ firefighters were injured while battling a ranch home fire in Glen Rock last night.

The blaze started at a Prospect Street house at around 7:45 p.m.

"When the crews went in, it looks like the fire was burning for quite a while," Glen Rock Fire Chief Tom Jennings told NorthJersey.com.  "They actually went through the floor into fire. Two of our members pulled them out to safety when they went through the floor."

Both firefighters were taken to The Valley Hospital. No life-threatening injuries were sustained, though both firefighters suffered burns on their legs and hands, Jennings said.

The fire was under firefighters’ control around 9:30 p.m. and the house was described as inhabitable.

Five departments had assisted in the effort to extinguish the fire, Mayor Bruce Packer said.

They included the Ridgewood, Hawthorne, Midland Park and Fair Lawn fire departments.
