A resident also suffered minor injuries from the fire in Perdido Key, near the Florida-Alabama border, that destroyed 14 of 20 condominium units early Wednesday.

Firefighters battled a "massive" condo fire in a Florida Panhandle island community near the Alabama state line, news outlets reported Wednesday.

One firefighter and one resident were injured, reported WKRG-Channel 5.

"The firefighter suffered minor heat exhaustion, and a resident suffered minor smoke inhalation, according to authorities," the TV station reported.

WKRG said 14 of 20 units at Key Harbour Condominiums in Perdido Key, in Escambia County, were destroyed and a nearby home was also destroyed.
