Two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion while battling a three-alarm fire at a Baltimore County restaurant Friday.

The blaze broke out at about 4 p.m. at Loafers Sports Bar and Grill in Catonsville, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. The restaurant was evacuated, and when crews arrived, thick smoke and flames could be seen coming from the building.

Firefighters tackled the blaze from the outside, and the fire was under control by about 6 p.m., WBAL-TV reports. Crews, however, were still at the scene, looking for hot spots.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital after suffering heat exhaustion. Another firefighter with heat exhaustion was evaluated at the scene, WBAL added.

While crews were battling the three-alarm fire, other firefighters were responding to a crash only a few blocks away that required a vehicle extrication, the Baltimore County Fire Department said. Four people were hurt in the accident with serious to critical injuries.
