Fire Damages Historic Atlanta Antique Shop

Nov. 29, 2019
The two-alarm fire spread through the antique shop near Ponce City Market.

Crews battled a large fire at Paris on Ponce, a 100-year-old building across the street from Ponce City Market, on Wednesday night, authorities said.

It’s unclear what sparked the two-alarm blaze at the antique shop on the Beltline, but Ponce de Leon Avenue was shut down in both directions as firefighters fought the flames, Atlanta fire Sgt. Cortez Stafford told AJC.com.

The fire started about 9:30 p.m., but the extent of the damage is unknown, authorities said.

Stafford said there are other businesses connected to Paris on Ponce, but it’s unclear if anyone was inside them when the fire started.

We’re working to learn more.
