Three-Alarm Sports Bar Fire Hospitalizes TX Firefighters

A firefighter was injured when he ran out of air and was trapped inside the burning business in Atascocita on Wednesday. Another firefighter suffered chest pains at the scene.

A Texas firefighter was injured Wednesday when was trapped inside a burning sports bar after running out of air. He was one of two firefighters hurt while battling the three-alarm in Atascocita, KPRC-TV reports.

No customers were inside Coaches Sports Bar and Grill when the blaze broke out just before 9 a.m. Crews were searching the building for the fire's origin when one of the firefighters began running out of air and was trapped inside.

He was able to eventually escape the burning building and was taken to a local hospital. A fire lieutenant who was outside the bar also was hospitalized after she began having chest pains.

Details on the conditions of both firefighters were not released, but officials told KPRC that their injuries did not appear to be serious.
