Firefighter Injured, 84 Saved from Indian Building Fire

A firefighter was hospitalized while helping to rescue people trapped on the terrace of a burning nine-story building in Mumbai on Monday.

Crews rescued 84 people trapped on the terrace of a buring nine-story building in India on Monday.

The massive blaze broke out inside the MTNL building in Mumbai, the Indian Express reports. Firefighters needed 14 fire apparatus, as well as a robot van, to help put out the flames, which were confined to the third and fourth floors.

One firefighter was hospitalized for suffocation, according to the Express.

"He is stable. Just has breathing problem," Dr. Pradeep Jadhav, the hospital's  superintendent, told the news outlet.
