A California firefighter suffered a leg injury following a fall while battling a vacant house blaze Monday.
The fire broke out just before 8 p.m. in northeast Bakersfield, KGET-TV reports. County and city crews responded to the blaze at the home, which has had past issues with squatters.
Bakersfield Battalion Chief Mike Lencioni told KGET that a firefighter was taken to the hospital with either a broken ankle or leg following a fall at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
