Hamilton Township firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire at a house fire Friday afternoon but they held off making an attack as an armed man was present.
For more than an hour, they waited while officers negoitiated with the suspect. Once he was in custody, the firefighters moved in, WLWT reported.
A woman in the house escaped before the fire started.
The house was declared a total loss and ones nearby were damaged.
There were no injuries.
