Fort Worth firefighters battled a early morning house fire that officials say started after a lightning strike.

The homeowner was awake when the strike occurred and she reported hearing a loud pop in the home on Yuchi Court in far west Fort Worth.

Firefighters used a defensive attack to bring the fire under control.

The resident escaped the home uninjured.

Fort Worth firefighters were called to a second house fire around the same time and lighting was responsible for that fire.
