Working House Fire in Elmont, New York

On April 21, 2005 at approximately 7:30 pm, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to a working house fire on Audrey Ave.

On April 21, 2005 at approximately 7:30 pm, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to a working house fire on Audrey Ave.

First responding units upon arrival, were met with flame from every window of the house.

Due to the large volume of flames, the fire was only able to be initially fought from the exterior. Under the Command of Chief Edward Lutz, Elmont FD units were able to extinguish the fire without any major incidents.

Elmont FD was assisted with mutual aid from Franklin Square, Valley Stream, and West Hempstead and Floral Park Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office.
