A $2.5 million home under construction for the upcoming Parade of Homes in the Pradera housing development near Parker, was heavily damaged by fire late Thursday evening.

A $2.5 million home under construction for the upcoming Parade of Homes in the Pradera housing development near Parker, was heavily damaged by fire late Thursday evening.

The Franktown, Parker and Castle Rock fire departments responded to the blaze at about 10 p.m. to find the home, which was under construction and not occupied, engulfed in "a fully developed fire which was brought quickly under control," according to a report from the Parker Fire Protection District.

At least nine fire units responded to the scene and 32 firefighters worked to put out the fire, which caused heavy damage to the structure.

The fire is under investigation and a cause has not been determined.
