Hotspots continue to keep firefighters busy more than 12 hours after a five-alarm blaze began at a vacant mill in Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (AP) -- Hotspots continue to keep firefighters busy more than 12 hours after a five-alarm blaze began at a vacant mill in Plainfield.

The fire prompted evacuation of nearby homes.

The fire continues to burn and smolder this morning. Hundreds of homes in the area were without power and schools are closed for the day.
