Fatal Fire in State College, Pennsylvania

On April 24th at 6:44 am, the Alpha Fire Company was dispatch to a dwelling fire on the 500 block of East Beaver Avenue.

On April 24th at 6:44 am, the Alpha Fire Company was dispatch to a dwelling fire on the 500 block of East Beaver Avenue.

As units went responding, State College PD arrived on scene to find a 3- story dwelling with heavy fire from the roof, with one person unaccounted for.

State College boro crews were the first on scene and aided in evacuating the dwelling.

Captain 595 arrived to find a 3- story dwelling with fire showing from all sides of division 3 with reports of one occupant still unaccounted for, then called for a second alarm.

Truck 517 was the first apparatus on scene. The crew made a quick knockdown of the fire using master streams. Immediately, Engine 513 and Engine 512 arrived and pulled several hand lines and made an aggressive interior attack.

Engine 514 arrived shortly after and laid a second supply line and supplied Engine 512.

One male victim was located.

Crews remained on the scene for several hours overhauling, mopping up and aiding in the investigation.

Two Firefighters were treated for minor injuries and released the same day.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
