House Fire in Chesapeake, Virginia

On Wednesday April 20th, at 9:30 pm, Chesapeake 911 received multiple calls regarding a house fire in the Indian River section of the city.

On Wednesday April 20th, at 9:30 pm, Chesapeake 911 received multiple calls regarding a house fire in the Indian River section of the city.

First arriving Engine 3 reported heavy fire involving the front of the building. An adjoining 40' x 80' garage was saved.

The fire was quickly brought under control by first alarm units.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a birds nest built atop a porch light that ignited from conducted heat. The damage estimate is $130,000.00.
