Colleton County, South Carolina Firefighters Tackle House Fire

On Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 0849 hours Colleton County Fire-Rescue responded to a house fire at 603 Barracada Road, east of Walterboro.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 0849 hours Colleton County Fire-Rescue responded to a house fire at 603 Barracada Road, east of Walterboro.

Engine 1901 arrived within four minutes to find the front of the building well involved.

Firefighters made entry with two 1-3/4 hand lines and quickly had the fire under control.

Most of the building was spared, however, the front portion of the building suffered heavy damage.

Fire Investigators have determined that the fire started in the attic. The exact cause is under investigation. No one was at home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Engine 1901, Engine 902, Tanker 103, Tanker 1904, Tanker 2402, Tanker 2602, Squad 1, Medic 27, Truck 11 and Truck 12 responded. Captain Ron Waggett served as Incident Commander.
