Pine Hill Fights Oxygen Fueled Fire in New York

The Pine Hill Hose Co. #5 located in Cheektowaga New York was alerted for a confirmed working structure fire at 18 Andrews.

The Pine Hill Hose Co. #5 located in Cheektowaga New York was alerted for a confirmed working structure fire at 18 Andrews at 9:04pm.

The structure was a 1 1/2 story wood frame home. upon the arrival of Mike Braun, Pine Hill 9, he reported the front half of the structure was full involved and that there was an exposure problem on the #4 side. this was caused by heavy fire coming from the first floor bedroom window.

The first truck on location was Truck 6. The crews set up an exterior attack with three 13/4 hand lines. Cleveland hill engine 3 provided mutual aid and also set up one 13/4 and one 2 1/2 hand line. Once the main body of fire was knocked down an interior attack was started. The fire was called under control by PH 9 at 9:25 pm and out at 9:40 pm.

There was extensive overhaul to be performed. During the fire Rescue Hose Company provided coverage to the Pine Hill Fire District.

The fire originated in a first floor bedroom and the cause is under investigation by the Cheektowaga Police.
