Garage Fire Handled in Maine

At about 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 6, the Kittery & Kittery Point Fire Departments were dispatched to 35 Bartlett Rd in Kittery Point for a reported vehicle fire in a garage. Chief Dave O'Brien found heavy fire showing from the overhead garage doors. He requested mutual aid tankers due to the remote location. A second alarm quickly followed as the fire was extending from the garages into the second floor which was the residential part of the house. Several area tankers responded and crews set up a water shuttle.

Several area tankers responded and crews set up a water shuttle.

The fire was knocked in about 30 minutes. Mutual aid crews assisted with overhaul. The homeowners were able to get out of the house safely.

There were no injuries.
