Firefighters Attack Monroe, N.J. Bus Fire

The incident occurred August 20th at about 12:40 p.m., just before the Exit 8A Truck Lane Southbound on the N.J. Turnpike.

A tanker was added to the assignment because of the need for water on the limited access highway.

Firefighters found the bus fully involved on arrival and all occupants had safely escaped.

Firefighters deployed an attack line to combat the flames on the lower section of the bus. Once that was knocked down, a CAFS attack line was moved to the interior of the bus to bring the interior fire under control.

The floor over the rear wheels had burned through and sections of the roof were melting and burned through.
