Firefighters Control Quebec Industrial Park Blaze

The fire erupted shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at an industrial warehouse on Berlier Street.The company, ABBA, specializes in stripping and finishing of furniture. Toxic fumes that emanated from the fire forced the evacuation of several businesses located nearby. A lot of smoke emerged from the roof of the building and some fire areas were difficult to reach. A fourth alarm was necessary to contain the flames.

Laval firefighters took control of the fire, and more than 35 firefighters participed in the operation.

EMS was on the scene, and police officers diverted traffic.
