The Allegany, N.Y., Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a fully involved house fire on Mediterranean Drive with injuries.

The two residents were flown by Mercy Flight helicopter to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.

Allegany firefighters were assisted at the scene by volunteer firefighters and equipment from Town of Olean, Weston's Mills, Hinsdale, Knapp Creek, Limestone and Kill Buck. Portville, NY and Derrick City and Eldred Township, PA volunteer fire departments provided station fill-ins.

Firefighters used four one-and-three-quarter-inch attack lines and one two-and-one-half inch attack line along with an aerial master stream to extinguish the fire.

A tanker shuttle was used to supply water for firefighting operations. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours.
