Nearly 60 fire companies from seven counties and two states fought this 200,000 sq. ft. plastic plant fire on August 2.

The Northampton County 911 Centrer received a call for an industrial plant fire. Upon the first unit's arrival, heavy fire was showing from multiple areas of the building.

It was discovered later that the overnight staff had tried to fight the fire before calling for the fire company. Upon doing so, they damaged the fire suppression system, knocking it off line. With no sprinklers or standpipe system available, the plant was lost early in the blaze.

No serious injuries were reported. The smoke could be seen more than 40 miles away. It took firefighers nearly 24 hours to extinguish the fire.
