Major Fire Burns in Boisbriand, Quebec

A fire broke out at the very end of the evening on the rue André Ouellet in a neighborhood inhabited by members of the Jewish community. A dozen townhouses have been completely destroyed by fire.At the height of the fire, all the cities belonging to the support of the Lower Laurentians were utilized.

A general alarm was triggered for several fire departments and more Boisbriand, the towns of Ste- Therese, Blainville, St-Eustache, Deux-Montagnes, Rosemere-Lorraine, Mirabel (4 teams), Ste-Anne-des- Plains and St. Jerome were on hand.

At midnight the flames had diminished in intensity, but the dozens of firefighters on site were still trying to master the destructive element.
