Albany House Fire Deemed Suspicious

On July 12 at 6:04 a.m. Albany Fire Department was called to 35849 Santiam Hwy for a house fire. Upon arrival smoke and flames were seen coming out of the windows and throughout the first and second floors.

On July 12 at 6:04 a.m. Albany Fire Department was called to 35849 Santiam Hwy for a house fire. Upon arrival smoke and flames were seen coming out of the windows and throughout the first and second floors.

Albany Fire Department responded with 19 personnel and seven vehicles. Lebanon Fire Department also responded with six personnel and two vehicles to assist with water supply, as water had to be brought to the scene.

The house was almost a complete loss. The estimated loss to the building was $150,000 and the estimated loss to contents was $75,000. The owner of the home was uninsured. The attached garage and its contents suffered no loss.

The fire was determined to be suspicious and Albany Fire Department is working with LCSO on the investigation.
