New Jersey Crews Hit House Fire

Firefighters from the City of Linwood, N.J.  Fire Department were alerted at approximately 2:24 a.m. July 8 for a report of a fire on 8 Rose Lane in the Fischers Woods section of the city. Police reported fire through the roof of a two-story wood frame house. Linwood Fire Chief Charles "Chick" Kisby quickly requested mutual aid from the Cities of Somers Point and Northfield along with two engine companies from the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department.

Police reported fire through the roof of a two-story wood frame house. Linwood Fire Chief Charles "Chick" Kisby quickly requested mutual aid from the Cities of Somers Point and Northfield along with two engine companies from the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department.

Linwood Engine 54 took a hydrant 150' from the scene while a second LDH was laid out to Oak Avenue which supplied the City of Somers Point's 100' platform.

Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire which was brought under control within 90 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Responding and assisting were City of Linwood, City of Northfield, City of Somers Point, Bargaintown, Scullville, Atlanticare, City of Linwood Police.
