Detroit Houses Destroyed by Blaze

Detroit, MI – On Sunday, June 26, companies from the 8th Battalion responded to the area of Quinn between Veach and the railroad tracks for a dwelling fire.

While en route to the scene E56's crew  reported heavy smoke showing and ordered the first engine to stretch the line.

Chief 8 requested Central Office dispatch an additional Engine for RIT as there were two houses on fire.

C8 advised all companies on the scene that this would be a defensive attack only. L30 set up for their elevated waterway.

Crews searched the vacant dwellings on either side of the fire for extension. Firefighters worked for over an hour to bring this fire under control.
