On Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at 3:34 am, Lakeville Fire Stations 3 & 4 were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 18092 Lamar Ct.

Arriving police officers updated Lakeville dispatch that fire fully engulfed the home, which was under construction. The call was then upgraded to include all of Lakeville’s four fire stations.

Fire Command was established at 3:42 am. Forty-three firefighters and 9 units from Lakeville Fire responded, along with 4 Chief Officers.

The structure was in the process of being built. The frame-work was exposed; which added to the intensity of the blaze. The high heat caused damage to the siding of an adjacent home, which was also under construction.

Lakeville Police assisted and ALF Ambulance was on scene for stand-by. The fire was announced under control by Lakeville Fire Command at 4:11 am. There were no injuries and the last unit cleared the scene at 5:24 am. Damage estimate is $100,000.

While lightning is suspected, the fire cause remains under investigation by the Lakeville Fire Department and Police Department.
