Delaware Firefighters Tackle House Blaze

Claymont, Brandywine Hundred, and Talleyville Fire Companies were dispatched to 110 Governor Printz Blvd. for a house fire at 0235 hours on April 16.

Claymont, Brandywine Hundred, and Talleyville Fire Companies were dispatched to 110 Governor Printz Blvd. for a house fire at 0235 hours on April 16.

Upon arrival, Chief Eric Haley (13-8) found heavy fire and smoke showing from the garage and first floor of a single story occupied home.

Additional units were requested to assist in the operation, due to the intensity of the fire. 75 firefighters from Claymont, Brandywine Hundred, Talleyville, Holloway Terrace, and Lower Chichester (Delaware County) brought the fire under control in approximately 1 hour.

Fire destroyed the garage and first floor contents.

No injuries to the firefighters.

Claymont Fire Chief Eric Haley placed the fire under control at 0345 hours.

The cause and origin are under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal
