New York Firefighters Extricate One After Public Transit Bus Collides With Passenger Vehicle

The Elmira Heights, New York Fire Department responded to a reported MVC with injury on April 3, 2004, at approximately 12:20 PM.

The Elmira Heights, New York Fire Department responded to a reported MVC with injury on April 3, 2004, at approximately 12:20 PM.

First arriving units reported a Chemung County Transit Bus and a passenger car with one injury. The 17 bus passengers and driver were not injured. The driver of the car was unresponsive and still in the vehicle.

The Elmira Heights Fire Department and Erway Ambulance extracated the driver. The driver was transported to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in critical condition.

The Chemung County Sheriff Department and The New York State Police assisted at the scene.
