On Friday, April 2, 2004, Central Hardin Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Bardstown Road.
They arrived to find the Southeastern Contracting warehouse fully involved.
Firefighters battled the blaze for more than two hours.
The warehouse was a total loss, but firefighters successfully protected a mobile home that was less than four feet from the burning structure.
Two portable tanks were set up to provide a continuous water supply. 30,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the inferno.
Valley Creek and Boston Fire Departments provided mutual aid. Hardin County Ambulance Service was also at the scene. No injuries were reported. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
