House Fire in Memphis, Tennessee

Just after 1pm, the Memphis Fire Alarm Office began receiving multiple calls reporting a house on fire at 1028 Peabody Avenue near Camilla St.

Just after 1pm, the Memphis Fire Alarm Office began receiving multiple calls reporting a house on fire at 1028 Peabody Avenue near Camilla St.

Engines 7,8, 14, Truck 13, Rescue 2, and Battalion 3 responded on the initial alarm. E8 was given the run on the air and almost immediately advised a large column of smoke could be seen from their location.

E8 arrived first on the scene and found a well advanced fire in a 2- story multiple dwelling.

The balance of the first alarm assignment arrived quickly there after, and all went to work.

Battalion 3, Chief Bill Clark quickly called for extra equipment.

The incident rose to nearly 3 alarms before being brought under control.
