A 2- alarm fire destroyed Miller's Welding Shop at 54 Christiana Pike, Sadsbury Township on a Sunday evening.

A 2- alarm fire destroyed Miller's Welding Shop at 54 Christiana Pike, Sadsbury Township on a Sunday evening.

The fire started after lightning struck a tree next to the shop. The owner of Miller's Welding Shop, who lives on the property, called 911.

Christian Fire Company was dispatched by Lancaster County-Wide Communications and call was quickly upgraded to a second-alarm.

About 70 firefighters from Lancaster and Chester Counties responded.

Damages were estimated at $175,000 to the wood with tin roof structure.

A horse barn attached to the business was saved along with the horses inside the barn.
