In all, it took 7 fire departments 2 hours to bring the blaze under control.

The attached garage was a total loss with the house suffering smoke and water damage.

The owner estimated that he also loss $30,000 worth of camera equipment that was in the trunk of one of the vehicles.

Bertrand Township is a small rural community serving a population of 3,000 and covering 41 square miles from two stations.

We have 18 active volunteer firefighters and no full time members.

We do not run medicals at this time, and average 100 calls per year.
