It took Compton and L.A. County Firefighters close to an hour to knock down a blaze that ran through part of a pallet yard at 126th and Alameda Streets in an industrial area of Willowbrook.

The fire, on the Willowbrook/Compton border, sent flames shooting eighty feet into the air. Compton Fire also had a first alarm assignment on scene.

The fire also threatened to bring down power lines that ran alongside the pallet yard. Several handlines and master stream appliances darkened down the fire. Foam was requested to smother hot spots inside the burning complex.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the late night blaze is under investigation.
