Residential House Fire in Hillburn, New York

At 3:15 am, Hillburn and Suffern were dispatched simultaneously to a reported structure fire on Second Street in a small residential community.

At 3:15 am, Hillburn and Suffern were dispatched simultaneously to a reported structure fire on Second Street in a small residential community.

The fire was discovered in the rear of a two story, two family, wood frame residence by an Ex-Chief from Hillburn who is a neighbor.

The fire quickly raced out of control and spread to exposure four and threatened exposure two. Additional units were called to battle the second, two story, two family, wood frame residence with significant fire in the attic and rear of the building.

Members utilized a 3" hand line from Hillburn's apparatus, an inch and three quarter foam line from Sloatsburg and a tower ladder from Suffern to knock down the main body of fire.

Units remained on scene after daybreak extinguishing hot spots and assisting the cause and origin investigators from the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

Hillburn FD was assisted by units from Suffern, Tallman, Sloatsburg, South Spring Valley, Monsey, Hillcrest as well as Mahwah, N.J.
