Warehouse Fire in Livingston, Alabama Goes to Six Alarms

At 4:20 PM, Wednesday, March 17, the Livingston Fire Department responded to a warehouse fire in the North Industrial Park.

After arrival with both engines, an interior attack was put into action. Teams met extreme heat, smoke and several explosions, one in close proximity to firefighters.

Due to the intensity of the fire, a call for mutual aid was made. Mutual aid was received from: Linden, York, Cuba, Coatopa-Dug Hill, Coatopa-Belmont, Butler, North Sumter, Bellamy, Epes, Pennington, Demopolis, Ward, Faunsdale, and Thomaston Fire epartments, Sumter County, Marengo County, South Marengo County Rescue Squads and the Marengo County EMA Director. Alabama State Troopers assisted in traffic control. Over thirteen fire departments responded with over 100 firefighters battling the fire.

There was no loss of life and only one minor injury in the fire that took 48 hours to bring under control.
