Mother's Day traffic on a major Interstate was interrupted while Tampa Firefighters battled a motor home fire.

Northbound traffic was completely shut down as two engine companies and a rescue worked on the fully involved Class A motor home.

This type of decision assures that firefighters stay safe from speeding traffic while handling a blaze that is basically a structure fire on wheels.

Engine 11 and Engine 7 along with an ALS Rescue worked the 1100 hour blaze which occurred on Interstate 275 just north of Busch Blvd. Northbound traffic was routed off at the Busch Blvd exit.

There was at least one minor traffic accident in the southbound lane as motorists slowed to watch the firefighters work.
