On Thursday, March 18, 2004, in the early afternoon, a residential house fire in Akron, Ohio, sent a woman and her two children fleeing to the roof of their home.
When the call came in, the occupants were said to be trapped on the roof of the structure. Two contractors from next door ran over and attempted to rescue the victims. The woman lowered her children down from the back of the house to the two men, and at about the same time, the ladder company arrived on the scene.
Minor injuries were sustained in this incident. The cause is unknown, but is believed to be electrical.
