40 Firefighters Called to Restaurant Blaze in Indianapolis, Indiana

On March 21, 2004, the Wayne Township Fire Department recieved a call from the Dairy Queen at 8959 W. Crawfordsville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana for a fire at 11:43 AM.

On March 21, 2004, the Wayne Township Fire Department recieved a call from the Dairy Queen at 8959 W. Crawfordsville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana for a fire at 11:43 AM.

The first fire unit was on the scene in two minutes and observed smoke coming from the room of the business.

Crews entered the building and worked to bring the fire under control.

The fire vented throught the roof of the structure shortly after firefighters arrival. Void spaced in the roof line made it difficult for crews to access the main area of the fire.

The fire was brought under control within an hour.

No injuries were reported and the restraunt sustained heavy smoke water and fire damage. Investigators found the fire to have started in the cooking area due to a grill fire.
