Ridgewood, New Jersey Firefighters Start The Day Off With A General Alarm

The Ridgewood Fire Department was hoping for a quite day. They are a paid department and part volunteer.

When they were toned out for a report of a fully involved house on fire at 363 Godwin Avenue.

The police department confirmed to the chief that the house was fully involved. Upon arriving on the scene he saw heavy fire showing from the first and second floor and was extending to the attic. He then ask for a signal 10-99 which activatived the volunteers and for a recall from the last shift and for mutual aid companies.

The mutual aid companies were midland park , glen rock , Wyckoff for a fast team and for Hohocus to stand by.

Engine 31 dropped in a supply line and began stretching lines in.

The fire was knocked down and under control in about 30 minutes and companies began over hauling.

There was one injured firemen from Miland Park that was taken to the hospital, when he stepped on a power line the extent of his injuries was unknown at this time.

The fire is under investigation.
