Quarryville firefighters responded to a condominium duplex under construction on South Tanglewood Drive in East Drumore Township on Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 3:54 A.M. An employee from the Builders Group of Holtwood who was checking the site out saw smoke and called in the fire.

Lieutenant 5-7-2 was first to arrive and reported a two-story building with heavy fire from the first and second floor. A second alarm was requested and units from Rawlinsville, Bart Township, and Robert Fulton assisted Quarryville.

Firefighters were unable to save the house but did manage to stop the fire from spreading to the adjoining condominium. The fire is under investigation and it appears the fire started in the basement. The cause is unknown at this time. Damages were estimated at $300,000.
