Charlotte FireFighters Make Quick Stop of North Charlotte House Fire

The Charlotte Fire Department 911 Communications Center received a call from a teenager at 10:38 a.m. on March 10, 2004.


Charlotte, N.C-- The Charlotte Fire Department 911 Communications Center received a call from a teenager at 10:38 a.m. on March 10, 2004. He reported that his home was on fire in the 1300 block of Pegram Street, just north of downtown Charlotte.

Firefighters arrived in less than 4 minutes and reported heavy fire conditions showing from the rear porch area of this 1-story house. Engine 13, nearby at CFD Logistics, took command and then quickly advanced the first hoseline through the front door to keep the fire in the rear of the home, as Ladder 1 opened up the roof area above the fire.

Additional hose lines were put into service by firefighters from Engines 8, 64, & 4. Battalion Chief 6 arrived along with Rescue 10. Battalion Chief 6 took command as Charlotte
