The Sooke Fire Department is a Volunteer department of approximately 40 members trained in fire and rescue. We conducted a live fire evolution for the recruit classes on the night of 10 March 2004.

Using old rural outbuildings donated for the practice, the recruits were exposed to fire conditions in a controlled manner. These pictures show the attack team feeling the thermal levels, taking directions on staying low and where to put the water.
