Several departments responded to a late-morning house fire on East Avenue in Glen Cove, New York, on March 24th.

The fire started in the wall after a cable shorted out on the first floor on the exposure 3 and 4 corner of the 3-story dwelling.

The fire quickly spread up the exterior and through the house, due to the balloon-frame construction.

Operations were manpower intensive due to the extensive overhaul operations.

Mutual aid was received from Glenwood, Jericho, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay, Roslyn and Sea Cliff.
