On the morning of February 18, 2004, the Hagerman Fire Department was dispatched for a smell of smoke in the area.

Upon the arrival of the first chief, a signal 13/35 (working fire) was transmitted.

A total of 40 firefighters, three engines, one rescue, and a Fast Team from the Bellport Fire Department brought the fire under control in under two hours with direction from Chief of Department Michael Seidman.
