Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 12:58 am, The Pleasant Garden Fire Department (Guilford County, NC), along with Greensboro Fire Department and Guilford County EMS received a call for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Pin-In on US 421 Southbound at Interstate 85.
Greensboro E-11, Pleasant Garden E-31 and Rescue 3 arrived to find a two vehicle accident with one car in the southbound lane and one car in the median.
The vehicle in the southbound lane was occupied by 2 people with one having serious injuries and the other was a fatality that was pinned-in.
The vehicle in the median was occupied by one person that received minor injuries.
The injured were treated and transported by GCEMS.
It was determined that the vehicle in the median was traveling north in the southbound lane of US 421 prior to the accident. NCSHP is investigating.
