Chester County, Pennsylvania Firefighters Battle Building Blaze

On January 31, 2004, Oxford, PA (Chester County) units from the Union of Oxford Fire Company (Station 21), along with an engine from West Grove (Station 12), were dispatched to a building fire at 625 Lincoln St. in the Borough of Oxford.

When Deputy 21 went responding, Chester advised him that the police were on scene reporting a working fire in a 50x100 building. Deputy 21 arrived and requested a second alarm and a RIT assignment.

The remainder of West Grove Stations 12 & 22 were dispatched on the second alarm, and Quarryville FD (Lancaster County Sta 5-7) was dispatched for the RIT assignment.

Units from Oxford and West Grove battled temperatures in the teens to bring this fire under control.

The cause is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal's office.
