On Wednesday, February 11, 2004, shortly after 7 AM, the Port Jervis Fire Department was alerted for a Fuel Truck Rollover with large spill on Rt. 209 in the area of Culbert Rd.

Chief Mike Cicalese was the first to arrive and report a Home Fuel Delivery Truck on its roof with a "significant" spill that had already reached the storm sewers in the area. Chief Cicalese immediately requested the Orange County Hazardous Materials Team.

Firefighters and HazMat Team members quickly traced the location of the fuel and placed booms and pads in the sewers to stop the flow. All 2800 gallons onboard the truck spilled.

Assisting on scene were units from Huguenot, Cuddebackville, Port Jervis VAC, Regional EMS, Mobile Life Support Services, NYS EnCon Police, DEC Spill response Representitive, and various law Enforcement Agencies. Luzon Enviromental handled the cleanup.
