Delmar, Maryland Emergency Crews Respond to Vehicle Rollover, Ejection

On January 31, 2004, the Wicomico Co. EOC alerted Station 74 Delmar for an accident with injuries on Adkins Rd. west of Jersey Rd.

On January 31, 2004, the Wicomico Co. EOC alerted Station 74 Delmar for an accident with injuries on Adkins Rd. west of Jersey Rd.

While units were enroute, EOC advised crews of a rollover with subjects ejected.

Upon arrival, Rescue-74 led by 74-18 (Joe Morris, Jr.) found a Dodge Shadow well off the roadway and overturned several times into some trees. A total of four patients were found, one of them being unconscious after ejection during the rollover.

Command requested two additional EMS units and Rescue Squad from Station 5 Hebron. Crews assisted the EMS with patient care and transported all patients to Pennisula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

The roadway was shut down for a period of time while Maryland State Police did an investigation of the accident. MSP estimated the speed of the car to be traveling was 70-100 mph before it left the roadway. A total of seven fire/police had the area shut down during while MSP investigated the crash.
