Townhouses Engulfed by Flames in Longueuil, Québec, Canada

Around 7:25 PM on February 8, 2004, numerous calls were received for a structure fire at 1258, Des Tamias Street, only one block from the Longueuil Fire Station 23.

Around 7:25 PM on February 8, 2004, numerous calls were received for a structure fire at 1258, Des Tamias Street, only one block from the Longueuil Fire Station 23.

When the first unit (engine 221) arrived on scene, a series of townhouses under construction were completely engulfed by flames. A first and a second alarm were immediately transmitted by the command, following by the arrival of the engine 323, 322, and chief 131.

With the fire still out of control, a third alarm was transmitted followed by the arrival of the engines 211 and 232, and ladder 332.

Around 35 firefighters battle the blaze and the fire was declared under control around 11:00 PM.

No one was hurt and the fire is under investigation.
